No matter the season, giving your amazing beautiful skin the attention it needs should ALWAYS be a priority! Whether you are fresh out of college, preparing to spoil your grandchildren, or somewhere in between… be sure to dedicate time to your skincare routine.
Reminder that everyone is different! What works for my skin may not work for yours and I am no skin expert. I just love to ensure my skin is the best it can be. Some ladies swear by medical grade skincare while some are confident they’ve found the holy grail of drugstore skincare products. Do what works for YOU.
While I recommend finding an esthetician you trust and booking regular monthly facials, I totally understand that’s not something that everyone can fit into their budgets or schedules so often. Luckily, there are plenty of product reviews and skincare tutorials on YouTube that share some great insight. Of course, not everyone is an expert or licensed dermatologist, so please tread cautiously with your best judgement.
In the meantime, find products that give you results that help you achieve your specific skin goals. The following is a simple 4 step routine that I suggest subbing with your own favorite skincare products.
The feeling of clean skin is one of those simple things in life that makes me happy. What I do is wash my face with a basin of warm water using a splashing method. First, I fill up the basin halfway with hot water and dip my hands in to make them damp. Then, I add the cleanser to my hands and gently rub into my face and neck using small circular motions. I rinse by splashing my face with the hot water about 15 times until the cleanser becomes soapy. Lastly, I rinse with warm running water from the faucet.
Exfoliation is everything, but don’t overdo it! I’ve been using St.Ives Apricot Scrub for years. Some women find it a little too harsh for their skin. If you have sensitive skin, find a more gentle scrub. It’s important to get all that grime, leftover makeup and dead skin off.
Next up is to really get in there to get out all the dirt and buildup from inside your pores. My favorite way to do this is by using a peel off face mask.
Once you’re done, don’t forget to moisturize. I prefer coconut oil since it’s acne prone skin friendly. And whenever you put on makeup, moisturizer should be your base. Coconut oil is my tried and true, but there’s so many amazing moisturizers out there that you can have fun testing out.
